KEEP UP WITH BLUE BARN FARM
You can check back here or on our facebook page to see what's going on a Blue Barn Farm. We'll keep you up-to-date on what is available for sale and pick-your-own at the farm. We hope to see you soon!
Pick-Your-Own
The 2024 growing season is upon us! Our Pick-Your-Own crops include strawberries, red raspberries, blueberries and black raspberries. Strawberries begin in early June, Red Raspberries mid-late June, Blueberries the very end of June and Black Raspberries follow a week after blueberries, the first week of July.
Picking times are early in the day, 8am - 11am and late in the day 5pm-8pm. Picking days depend on the availability of berries which is greatly determined by the weather, so we ask that you call ahead (240-357-4087), check our Facebook page or find the Facebook posts streamed below.
While at the farm, stop in at our farm market located in the lower part of our barn. Find what's ripe and ready! Your selections may include lettuces, greens, radishes, broccoli, and green onions early in the season. Tomatoes, squashes, peppers and eggplant are samplings of what you'll find later in the season. Stop in, there's always something fresh and don't forget the sweet corn! We grow the best sweet corn! Sweet corn is available beginning mid-July at our on-farm market and the Farmers Markets we attend. Call ahead for availability and freezing/canning corn orders.
Pricing
Strawberries $4.00/lb
Blueberries $4.00/lb
Red & Black Raspberries $5.75/lb
For Pick-Your-Own, we accept cash, check or card, Paypal and Venmo. We also accept Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) vouchers. At our self-serve on-farm market, we accept cash, check, Paypal and Venmo.
Berry Picking Procedures
Drive through the cul-de-sac at the end of Flowing Spring Road and onto our private drive. Follow the road to the front of the barn. There will be signs showing you where to park.
Park in the designated areas and walk to the field entrance.
BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINERS. Your containers will be weighed upon entering the field. You will pick into your own containers and then pay for your berries by the pound.
Wash your hands before picking! There will be a wash station available at the entrance to the field.
Pick in the row and color coded area that you are assigned. We ask that family groups pick together.
We appreciate your cooperation and your understanding in following the guidelines. We are doing our best to provide an enjoyable picking experience for all or our customers. Thank you.

🥛 New Products at Blue Barn Farm! 🥛
You can now find fresh, raw milk in our coolers from Rissler Farms in New Enterprise! We are excited to offer Certified A2A2 Raw Milk along with delicious yogurt options.
Available now:
• Gallon White Milk — $6.50
• Half Gallon White Milk — $3.50
• Half Gallon Chocolate Milk — $4.00
• Yogurt (Vanilla or Black Cherry) — $2.75
What is A2A2 milk?
A2A2 milk comes from cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein in their milk, which some people find easier to digest than regular milk containing both A1 and A2 proteins. It’s fresh, creamy, and straight from the farm!

🥶 Here we go again….. another potential frost tonight, which means covering crops once again and carrying many transplants back into the greenhouse. It’s a LOT of work to cover and uncover everything, but protecting the plants is part of farming life this spring. 🌱
We held off on planting our peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and we’re so glad we did. The deep freeze back in April already caused major damage here on the farm. We lost our strawberries, asparagus, and rhubarb during those very cold nights. 💔🍓
Unfortunately, that means there will NOT be any Pick-Your-Own strawberries this year. We know many of you look forward to strawberry season with your families, and we’re disappointed too.
Farming is always an adventure in patience, hard work, and hoping the weather cooperates. We truly appreciate all of your support through the ups and downs. ❤️

It’ll still be a while before the sweet corn is ready, but in the meantime we have lots of fresh, delicious, nutritious produce waiting for you! 🍅🥒🥗
